study on flow (2012)

photography, video

The work titled Duration shows a photo series of water drops expanding and shrinking. The choice of using photography to document this process keeps the time frame of the process unknown and based on the viewer’s perception and imagination. It could have happened within one minute, one hour, one day, one live.

The photography series Duration is accompanied by the video Study on Flow, in which water drips are running along glass, accompanied by its shadows. Through the inclusion of the shadows, visible either delayed or in advance the actual water flow, the movement develops into multiple layers. It becomes more and more uncertain, where the movement starts, what is cause and what is effect of what we see.
